WHAT DOES THE ASSESSMENT INVOLVE?
OFF-ROAD THEORY ASSESSMENT
Once a referral has been received an Off-Road Theory Assessment is arranged with the client - this takes place in their own home and is usually completed within 45 minutes.

Intersection Diagram Test
Trail Marking Test
Eye-Chart Test
SIMARD Cognitive Assessment
The slideshow walks you through a series of slides and diagrams and is designed to measure your observation and memory skills.
ON-ROAD ASSESSMENT
The On Road Assessment takes approximately 50 minutes. You will drive your own vehicle in areas that are familiar to you and that you normally drive in.
For this assessment you will be accompanied by a Registered Driving Instructor and the Occupational Therapist.
The assessment will involve following the directions of the Driving Instructor and will include a variety of different driving situations such as the local shopping area, suburban back streets, junctions and the motorway (if appropriate).

ABLE-2-DRIVE OFFERS ASSESSMENTS FOR VEHICLES WITH BASIC MODIFICATIONS AND COMMERCIAL VEHICLES
Basic modifications could include Steering Wheel Spinners, left foot accelerator etc.
Commercial assessments are for if medical clearance is needed to return to driving for Class 2 or 4 Licences. This includes truck, bus, taxi drivers, couriers etc.
